Our Public Protection Officers provide a vital role within the Locality Team leading on tackling environmental crime and ASB which includes undertaking enforcement work.
Joining a multi-disciplinary team you will build relationships with our communities, businesses, community groups and other statutory services working collaboratively to ensure our streets; parks and open spaces are places where we are proud to live, work and enjoy. The role is varied, the majority of the time you will be out and about undertaking visible proactive patrols, engaging and working with communities as well as attending partnership and public meetings. You may be required to work evenings and weekends, as and when the job requires.These two roles will focus on targeting hotspot locations across a number of our localities within the city.
We are looking for people with:
• A professional calm and positive manner able to be sensitive but remain objective.• Previous experience or skills to undertake enforcement work and/or knowledge of relevant legislation to tackle Environmental Crime and ASB. • A flexible and task-oriented approach• The confidence to tackle inappropriate behaviour• The ability to work in a team, as well as under your own initiative• The skills and awareness to engage and interact with diverse communities• Excellent communications skills and the ability to accurately record information • An understanding of the confidential nature of your work• A commitment to fully engage in training and learning opportunities required for the role and wider locality working to support your personal and professional development.
