Looking for young people, aged 18 – 24, with lived experience of learning disability and/or autistic spectrum condition to be part of a team of young people with lived experience making recommendation based on research and analysis to influence decision-making.
Main function: • Work with partners to analyse the data. • Support the accessible sharing of analysis across the project. • Facilitate group discussions around ideas or where further exploration is required. • Provide your own opinion and the opinion of other young people involved in the project to make recommendations. • Support the development of ways to test ideas. • Fulfil the role of Chair/Vice-chair of the Partnership Board and Strategy Groups • Be the critical friend, holding the project and partners to account.
What will this look like? • Leading and taking part in discussions • Creating accessible ways to share the research and findings with others. • Working on your own and as part of a team. • Working with a wide range of people, for example, other young people, the DEBP team, charities, local council, other employers, and education. • Be supported by the Youth Voice Facilitator to complete a skills passport to reflect on and showcase the skills you are using in your job. • Looking at research, asking questions, and making suggestions for change
