Local Authorities are facing unprecedented challenges and well managed finances have never been more important. To help us in our goal of financial excellence we are now looking to recruit a Principal Accountant. Ideally you will be CCAB or CIMA qualified or part qualified as a minimum.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with relevant technical accountancy knowledge specifically relating to Capital Accounting and reporting. You will have responsibility for the schools and regeneration capital programmes and therefore have experience in budget monitoring for capital programmes with multiple funding streams. You should be an excellent communicator who is confident dealing with Senior Managers. You will need outstanding IT skills together with the ability to solve complex problems, have an analytical nature which contributes to the delivery of a high quality technical service within the corporate accountancy team.
