Transport Planning
The Traffic and Transportation Section manages a wide range of services and functions across Derby's busy transport network. These include passenger transport, traffic control, traffic engineering, parking services, Cycle Derby, highways development control, sustainable travel and transport planning. We are looking for two flexible individuals to take a lead role and increase our transport planning skill base.
These are key posts that require experience in a variety of work areas including transport assessments, funding bids, transport studies, and policy and programming. In addition, the open structure that Traffic and Transportation operates may also require you to take on projects from other functions within the Section.
As such, we are looking for one post with a focus on TA's and transport studies and one post with an emphasis on policy and programming.
You will need a degree in a relevant subject, or significant experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of transportation issues, and understanding of current transport and economic policies and strategies. You will have strong project management skills, good communication skills and be able to meet deadlines.
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 22 September 2019 at midnight. Any applications received after this date will not be accepted.
