The OpportunityIn the role of Highway Inspector , here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:- Carrying out a citywide planned programme of safety inspections of all highway assets, keeping accurate records to identify defects which require action and process works orders for repair.- Carrying out citywide inspections on utility apparatus, plant and operations, in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.- Assess, investigate and respond to a wide range of customer enquiries and complaints.- contributing to the planned citywide resurfacing programmes with observations of overall condition and deterioration of roads and footways.- Provide consent to the licensing of skips, scaffolds and hoardings on the public highway.- Approving requests for domestic and commercial vehicular access applications, including site assessment and calcuations to provide quotes to customers.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...
- experience related to highway maintenance or a similar field.- Can communicate effectively orally and in writing.- Can use a computer and handheld devices for word processing and the input of data into databases.- Can carry out inspections on foot daily in all weather conditions.- Must hold a current driving licence
