We are looking for someone with experience in Programme and Risk Management to join our team. As Assurance Lead, you will coordinate the development and maintenance of the Council's programme management and risk frameworks.
You will be responsible for the Programme Management Office, overseeing gateway processes to drive the delivery of our projects in a consistent and evidenced based way. Implementing a robust approach to programme and project management by providing a centre of excellence.

The OpportunityIn the role of Assurance Lead, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:• Develop and maintain the Council's programme management and risk frameworks.• Drive assurance activities and focus on agreed risks and issues for leadership teams.• Monitor programmes, projects, and risks, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.• Facilitate the Programme Management Office Board and Corporate Risk Management Group.• Provide training and guidance on risk and programme management practices.• Conduct project and risk reviews to support senior leaders and inform decision-making.• Collaborate with various teams to enhance risk management and project frameworks.• Represent the Council in external meetings, sharing knowledge and building relationships.

• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and represent the organization externally.• Presentation and Training: Ability to design and deliver presentations and training sessions.• Numeracy: Strong numeracy skills for interpreting complex data, including trends and benchmarking.• IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.• Literacy: Ability to write clear and concise reports and publications.• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and insights, identifying key risks and issues.• Organizational Skills: Systematic approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.• Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.• At least two years’ experience of supporting risk management and/or programme management
