The OpportunityIn the role of Team Leader (Structures) Projects, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
• Key focus of this role concentrates on the development of delivery of new and asset management maintenance/improvement projects relating to Structures.
• To lead and manage a technical team in providing technical surveys, design, contract management, constructions management and policy development to ensure that the divisions programme of engineering projects and other statutory responsibilities are implemented.
• To support the Engineering Group Manager in meeting the corporate and service objectives.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...
• Experience of leading a team of technical staff.• Recent extensive experience in the management and delivery of a programme of significant civil engineering schemes through all stages.• Knowledge of specification for Highways Works and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, experience of ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, policies, standards and guidelines issued in respect to Health & Safety at Work and an understanding of the duty holder responsibilities under the CDM regulations (including Principal Designer role).• Experience of the procurement, contract administration, supervision, and financial control of contracts, including agreement of valuations and payments, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with contract documents and programmes.• Good working knowledge of appropriate specialist software for the role (eg Civils 3D / AutoCAD as well as MS Office.• Degree or equivalent in civil, structural engineering or other appropriate discipline or substantial experience in an appropriate discipline, with evidence of continuing professional development.
