DE-Carbonise is a comprehensive low carbon support and grants programme for small and medium sized businesses across Derby and Derbyshire.
The project will enable businesses to:1. reduce their carbon emissions by making their sites and activities more efficient;2. improve their competitiveness by reducing their energy and resource costs; 3. attract new customers through networking events and activities;4. develop and prototype new low carbon products;5. improve their own green credentials enabling them to access low-carbon supply chains.
DE-Carbonise will reduce the carbon emissions of business activities, products and processes by providing carbon reduction audits and grants (up to GBP 20,000), alongside access to state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge technical expertise to foster improvement and innovation. It is a three year partnership project between Derby City Council, Derby County Council and the University of Derby and follows on from the successful Derby and Derbyshire Energy Efficiency (D2EE) project.
The Council is looking to recruit a new Project Officer, to join the existing professional and highly motivated team, to coordinate and deliver this exciting new project which is part-funded by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
Project Officers provide email, telephone and face-to-face support to a wide range of local businesses. This support will include activities such as carbon reduction audits, advice and signposting and awarding grants for the installation of energy/resource efficient and renewable energy generating technologies. The role will also require networking and attending events to publicise the project. To apply for this role candidates should have experience of carrying out energy audits and should have a relevant degree or other relevant professional qualification, ideally in an environmental discipline. Travel throughout Derbyshire is also essential to visit clients.
