Telecare Support Officer
Job description
Directorate: People Services
Hours: 37 hours a week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Carelink, Derby
An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Telecare Support Officer (Installer) to install telecare equipment in customer homes and be part of a dynamic team.
The Service uses telecare such as pendants and other assistive technology, to enable
vulnerable people to live independent, safe, and well within their own home environment.
The use of telecare equipment can sometimes help reduce falls, which can result in hospital admission, therefore you will also be working with hospital discharge teams and reassessment units to install telecare into the homes of discharged patients.
We are looking for someone who:
• provides excellent customer service to customers.
• has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• has an understanding of supporting vulnerable people.
• is flexible in their approach in the delivery of work within the service.
• can use hand tools.
• has computer skills.
• enjoys meeting people.
After training you will be responsible for the installation demonstrations, and programming of assistive technology in the homes of individuals. You will also provide ongoing support to our customers and prospective customers, in line with the Telecare Services Association quality standards framework (TSA) which the Service is currently working towards.
The post is a fixed term contract working 37 hours per week. You will be part of a team working between 9:00am and 18:00pm on a rota basis including, some weekends, and bank holidays.
Carelink is a 24/7 365 emergency monitoring and response service that ensures vulnerable people live independently, by having access to support at the end of the telephone or at the touch of a button whenever they need it, and is based at The Gatehouse Kedleston Road, Derby.
Post requirements:
• A full and current driving licence, and access to a vehicle for work is an essential requirement of this post (Mileage will be paid)
• An Enhanced Adults DBS check is also required for this post.
Please do not apply if you cannot meet these requirements as we cannot progress your application.
The Benefits of Joining Us:
• A very competitive holiday entitlement
• Local Government pension scheme
• A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
• Training and Development
• Employee discount scheme
• Free onsite parking
As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
Before you complete your application form please read our
guidance on filling in your application form.
Quick Tip! Remember to align your personal statement to the Essential Criteria in the Person Specification
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
The closing date for this vacancy is 9 October 2023 at midnight. Any applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.
